Acer has just announced the introduction of two new TravelMate notebooks, the 6595 and 6495, which were specially designed in order to provide the flexibility and security required in the most demanding professional environments.

As a result these notebooks feature multi-level security with integrated management and theft recovery technologies as well as a resilient case design with a magnesium-aluminium cage.

According to the company, this can evenly distributed the forces that the laptop has to face on the road in day to day use, while the reinforced metal alloy hinges should add to the overall durability of the system.

In addition, the keyboard has a spill resistant design with water drainage to protect the system form accidental spill, while the keys have a scratch-resistant coating to withstand even the most intense usage scenarios.

Moving to the inside of the TravelMate laptops, we find that their power is provided by second generation Intel Core processors with vPro and Anti-theft technologies.

These can be paired together with as much as 8GB of DDR3 system memory, and Acer even allows its users to opt for an Nvidia discrete graphics card if the Intel HD Graphics 3000 GPU found inside Sandy Bridge CPUs isn't enough.

Sadly, Acer has refused to decline the Nvidia GPU models that will be available in its latest creation, but we do know that Optimus is fully supported, so battery life won't take a hit when the discrete graphics isn't in use.

As far as storage is concerned, the TravelMate 6595 and 6495 can be configured with HDDS up to 750GB in capacity as well as with an 120GB SSD for even better performance.

The rest of the notebook's configuration includes 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, one USB 3.0 port, HDMI and VGA video outputs, a fingerprint reader, a TPM module, an ExpressCard/34 slot as well as a 14 or 15.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1366x768.

Pricing hasn't been announced at this point in time, but the Acer TravelMate notebooks should arrive in retail in the coming weeks.
