Acer has already updated several of its systems and does not seem poised to stop with just that, having also issued an official announcement in which it unveils that its TimelineX collection has been granted new internal components.

Among the machines that Acer has already upgraded are the AS5745, AS7745 and 5742G laptops.

The changes ranged from new CPUs to discrete graphics and other technologies, like Optimus and 3D Vision.

Now, another press release reveals that the Acer TimelineX collection of ultra-thin mobile personal computers has also been given new CPU options.

The models in question are the 1830T, 3820T, 4820T and the 5820T, each with screen sizes of 11.6-inches, 13.3-inches, 14-inches and 15.6-inches, respectively.

Basically, these products can now be configured with Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 central processing units (CPUs).

The rest of the feature set is unchanged, from the memory to the display and everything else, all the way to the connectivity and I/O options.

For those interested in the specifics, the ultra-thin mobile computers use LED-backlit displays with a resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels.

They also boast up to 4 GB of RAM, hard drives of up to 500 GB, integrated or switchable discrete Mobility Radeon graphics, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and 3G.

Finally, the products feature multi-gesture touchpads and Crystal Eye webcams .

"Our new Aspire TimelineX 1830T delivers a rare combination of ultra-mobility and superb performance using an Intel Core i7 processor that gives customers enormous capabilities in a highly compact design," said Pete Daily, senior manager of product marketing, Acer notebooks.

"Additionally, the rest of the TimelineX line delivers the same sought-after attributes of incredibly long and reliable all-day battery life, slim and sleek designs and enhanced performance."

The starting price of the upgraded Acer TimelineX ultra-thin notebook models is of $600.
