New tablet leaks on the Internet

Be ready for a wave of new computer systems coming your way this month and before the end of the year, mainly because Microsoft's much-anticipated Windows 7 operating system is going to be launched on October 22, which is a good enough reason to roll out a couple of new PCs that will run on said OS. Such is the case with one of the world's leading PC vendors, Acer, which is expected to roll out a couple of new designs that will take advantage of the features that have been built inside the new OS. The Aspire Timeline 1820P makes no exception to the rule, as this is a Tablet PC that will take full advantage of the touchscreen features enabled in Windows 7.

According to a post on macles*, a blog dedicated to things related to the Acer Aspire One netbook, the Taiwanese PC vendor is preparing to update its portfolio with the introduction of a new Timeline model, the 1820P, which will be very similar to the 1810T (or 1410 in some regions). In fact, the only difference between the 1820P and the other systems that resemble it is that the former will be featured with a rotating screen hinge and a multitouch-capable touchscreen.

Aside from that, users will be able to enjoy the same 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display, powered by Intel's integrated graphics and the Intel CULV 1.4GHz Core 2 Solo SU3500 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM. All ports remain the same, but due to the extra swiveling features the notebook comes with an extra weight of 300g.

There's no word on pricing and availability, but the new system is expected to ship with Microsoft's Windows 7, so there's a good chance that users will be able to get their hands on one sometime before the end of October.
