Of all the products that have been unveiled thus far, few can truly claim to bring a radical level of innovation to the segment they are set to be part of. Nevertheless, from time to time, a hardware maker or another does manage to create something less than ordinary, and the T231H monitor is one such example. Unveiled by Acer about two months ago, in early June, during Computex 2010 to be exact, the product appears to have finally started shipping. At least, this is what a recent report suggests.

The T231H, as its name implies, has a panel size of 23 inches. As consumers may expect, it also has a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, which means that it supports Full HD multimedia playback. Granted, one could say that Full HD support has actually become rather common when it comes to any display of mediocre quality and above. As such, it fall to the rest of the feature set to actually make the newcomer stand out amongst its peers.

The monitor has a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m2 and features the Adaptive Contrast Management (ACM) technology, which can dynamically adjust the contrast of the screen in order to enhance the sharpness of the images. To be more precise, the DCR (dynamic contrast ratio) is of 80,000:1. Furthermore, end-users will likely be pleased to hear that the response time of the display is only 2ms. Nevertheless, these are not the real selling points. What is most important is that the TN panel actually integrates multi-touch capabilities. This means that buyers will benefit from a new level of interactivity.

The report states that the product is already selling in Europe, though one may not immediately find an online retailer that has it in stock. The supposed price is of 329 Euro.
