Unsurprisingly, seeing how it is one of the more prominent sponsors of the 2010 Winter Olympics, Acer has put the Olympics logo on the lid of its 11.6-inch Timeline ultraportable laptop. The gadget is already available through Amazon and packs in its compact frame (8.03 x 11.2 x 1.18 inches) a set of quite suitable performance capabilities, albeit no different from the original Acer Timeline 1810T.

This product is something of a hybrid between a notebook and a netbook. Its 11.6-inch screen size is somewhat larger than that of regular netbooks and can render high-definition media. The product is powered by an Intel Pentium Dual-Core SU4100 Processor, which runs at 1.3GHz and has 3,072 MB of DDR2 memory to work with. The RAM operates at a frequency of 667MHz.

The laptop has an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator and HDMI connectivity for use with a secondary display and a SATA hard drive provides the laptop with 320GB of storage space. The aforementioned screen is an 11.6-inch HD widescreen CineCrystal LED-backlit Display. The entire product weighs 3.08 pounds and runs the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. Finally, the connectivity and I/O capabilities of the Acer Timeline 1810TZ include an 8x DVD-Super multi double-layer drive and support for 802.11n Wi-Fi.

As noticeable, Acer's laptop is quite well equipped for an 11.6-inch machine. It can store quite a bit of data, has a decent memory and can even handle HD media, which means that it will perform well if used for watching the 2010 Winter Olympics that are set to debut on February 12, 2010 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. End-users will also be enthralled to know that the Acer Timeline 1810TZ is even capable of running on battery power for up to eight hours.

The 8.03 x 11.2 x 1.18 inch-laptop is, as already mentioned, available for shipment through Amazon, although the regular black and blue versions are currently out of stock. The Olympic Edition silver version, however, is available for the price of $579.99.
