Back in December Acer launched the Aspire S7 Ultrabook which boasted an impressive WQHD display (complete with Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection) in markets like Japan, but not in the US.

Now the PC maker is finally making the option available in America. Interested parties will be able to choose between two models, one powered by an Intel i5-4200U processor and another by an i7-4500U powerhouse.

Both versions will be fitted with 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. Don’t expect the Acer Ultrabooks to come cheap, as the i5 model will come bearing a $1,499 / €1,112 price tag while the i7 will be available for grabs for $1,799 / €1,334.

The 2560 x 1440 resolution Ultrabooks will be offered starting next week, from a variety of online and retail outlets like Frys or Amazon.
