Acer announced the launch of a new mobile computing platform, the Ferrari 1100 series of laptops, which comes with an entirely new concept of portability, style and power. Coming as the latest Ferrari-branded notebook series, the Acer 1100 model is based on technologies pioneered by its predecessors, the Ferrari 5000 and Ferrari 1000 notebook families.

The new Acer Ferrari 1100 laptop is combining portability, style and rich multimedia capabilities as it comes in a compact design that includes
on optical drive, a slot loaded DVD SuperMulti DL compatible device, which is accompanied by the presence of the unique Dolby sound technology that can deliver cinema style surround sound, for a complete multimedia experience.

Ferrari 1100 comes in a carbon fiber casing that provides extended protection and durability while being light, so the increased protection does not come at the cost of portability. On the technical specifications side, the new Acer Ferrari 1100 laptop is compliant with the latest ''AMD Better By Design'' program as it is powered by the Advanced Micro Devices top of the line Turion 64 X2 dual-core mobile technology as well as an ATI Radeon X1250 integrated into the chipset graphics solution that can share up to 960MB of system memory as it implements the HyperMemory technology. On the display side, the 1100 model is equipped with a 12.1 inch widescreen display that integrates the Acer CrystalBrite technology for crisp and clear images even in direct sunlight.

As it comes with an integrated wireless network interface, the Acer InviLink Nplify 802.11a/b/g/Draft-N compatible solution, this new mobile computing device from Acer is offering extended support for the SignalUp technology that is used in conjunction with the InviLink Nplify class of products in order to provide a good running environment for the Acer Videoconference application that is well suited for voice or video conferencing over the Internet.

This new product from Acer, the Ferrari 1100 laptop, comes pre-installed with a Microsoft Windows operating system and the user may choose from different versions of Vista: Home Premium, Business and Ultimate. Closely following the computer industry trends, Acer integrated a number of protective systems into this new laptop, such as the DASP technology, or the unique Acer Bio-Protection fingerprint security solution.
