Acer has always been one of key naysayers when it comes to Windows 8 and Windows RT, so it’s no surprise that chairman J.T. Wang continues to criticize the tablet-oriented OS.

Wang said in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that Windows RT is no longer an influential operating system, hinting that it might abandon plans to release future tablets running it.

"We would like to be realistic. We have not decided if we want to launch that, to start mass production," Wang was quoted as saying.

Acer is one of the companies that criticized Microsoft for its involvement in the hardware industry, claiming that the Softies should focus on their main software division and avoid becoming a rival for its partners.

"They are doing something to kill the whole ecosystem," Wang said back in October. "They have all this cash. They could kill everybody," he added.
