Acer Liquid, the first Android device delivered to the market by computer maker Acer, was officially unveiled a few weeks ago, and is reported to come to France sometime in December with Android 1.6 on board. There are little changes Acer has made to the operating system on its Acer Liquid handset, but this might be the result of an upcoming Android 2.0 update for the phone.

It seems that Liquid will see an Eclair update heading for it sometime after the launch, but no exact details on when that will happen have emerged for the time being. The phone will hit France in December in white and in January in red, while being priced at around €350, is what a recent post on gpsandco states. Those of you who would like to learn a little more on the handset will also find a hands-on on the site, though you should know it is in French.

For what it's worth, the Acer Liquid should prove to be one of the fastest Android-based mobile phones when becoming available for purchase on the market. It sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 processor that runs at 768 MHz, and also includes 256MB of RAM and 512MB of ROM. It seems that the Android 1.6 OS that will come on it hasn't been modified too much by Acer's UI so as to enable the phone to be as speedy as possible.

Other specifications of the handset include a 480 x 800 pixel resolution screen, coupled with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA 1.8 Mbit/s, HSDPA 3.6 Mbit/s, HSDPA 7.2 Mbit/s, HSUPA/HSUPA 2.0 Mbit/s connectivity options, Google Chrome internet connectivity, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 350 mAh Li-Ion battery, and an entire range of other features and capabilities.

Take a look at the video available with the handset to make an idea on what it will be capable to deliver to users when available on the market, or head to gpsandco for the hands-on.
