Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition Available, Limited to 200,000 Units

Acer and Ferrari have partnered again to release yet another luxury phone, the Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition. Even though the manufacturer hasn't disclosed the smartphone's price so far, it is certain that its production will be limited to 200,000 units.

The exclusive device has been unveiled at the Ferrari Theme Park event in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Liquid E Ferrari special edition offers a unique combination of fine detail, great performance and quality materials.

The Liquid E boasts a glossy red shell with chrome detailing, while the back of the phone wears the Ferrari badge with carbon fibre detailing. Thanks to a special case, the Acer Ferrari Liquid E special edition is well protected, safe from dust and damage.

The phone features a TFT 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with 262K colors and 480x800 pixels resolution.

It comes bundled with Ferrari content, as the user can personalise the phone using Ferrari wallpapers, as well as a special set of ringtones with the “music” of Ferrari engines.

Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition comes preinstalled with the Acer Media Player widget that gives users instant access to their digital media and also the Acer Web player widget, that lets users thumb through page previews of their web bookmarks and load them with a simple tap.

The device is powered by a 768 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 processor and runs on Android 2.1 (Eclair) platform. It is unclear if the phone will receive a future Android 2.2 update, as the manufacturer hasn't announced anything yet.

Other key features of the special edition smartphone include: 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and geo-tagging, GPS with A-GPS support, 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA 2.0 Mbps and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP suppport.

The smartphone's sales package also contains a unique Ferrari-branded Bluetooth headset with noise cancellation technology.

Unfortunately, Acer hasn’t unveiled definitive pricing for the Acer Liquid E Ferrari Special Edition, but the device will be available at all Ferrari stores.
