Acer has recently announced yet another 22-inch limited edition LCD display beast. Only 500 units of the new product, a Limited Edition Ferrari LCD display, branded as the F-22Bid, will come to the market, which
makes us expect it to come at a reasonable high price. As the name suggests, the new monitor will appear with the black horse logo from Ferrari on the front bezel, the same logo which has been lately used on a wide range of devices, from GPS nav systems to overpriced clock radios.
The new Acer F-22Bid LCD monitor comes with a native WSXGA resolution of 1,680x1,050 pixels and features a range of connectivity ports including HDMI, DVI and a D-Sub inputs. According to the product specifications, it will come with 2ms gray-to-gray response rate. Acer's latest horse-decorated product is also able to provide a 20,000:1 contrast ratio with Adaptive Contrast Management.
This Limited Edition Ferrari LCD display will feature a brightness of 300cd/m² and is said to have a power consumption of up to 55W. Also, the specifications list shows its dimensions set at 512x416x203mm (WxHxD). The various input ports should allow users to connect it at about any video outputting devices.
All the features of this monitor point to the fact that it will come as quite a handy product, at least for enthusiasts. On the other hand, it will be rather difficult to get your hands on one of the Acer F-22Bid LCD displays given both the small number of devices that will hit the market and the supposedly high price, which hasn't been unveiled by the company up until now.
Acer also has on the market a non-limited edition monitor which is identical to F-22Bid. The non-limited model is available on
Newegg and has a price tag set at $309 (€223).
