An upgraded version of Liquid A1

Computer maker Acer announced on Monday, at the Mobile World Congress, a new handset powered by Google's Android operating system, the Acer Liquid e. According to the company, the mobile phone comes to the market as a version of the already launched and somehow popular Acer Liquid. However, the new device sports an updated feature when compared to the previous version, namely the Android 2.1 Operating System (aka Éclair).

The new Acer Liquid e sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside, which offers it a great deal of processing and graphical capabilities, as well as a high definition touchscreen display, not to mention great multimedia, web browsing, and social media integration. According to its maker, the new Liquid e can offer great Internet connectivity options, as well as an enhanced entertainment experience.

Liquid e with Android Éclair 2.1 brings other features to the table too: - Home screens - The new version now handles five home screens by default, allowing users to easily install more applications from the rich selection available on the Android Market, as well as shortcuts and widgets; - Quick Contacts – a feature that lets users easily switch between the address book and the social network applications; - Live wallpapers to customize your Liquid e on the fly; - A new keyboard layout with an extended dictionary for predictive input; - An updated version of the Android browser, supporting HTML5, double-tap zooming, video tagging support and geo-location API support.

When it comes to the specs list of the new handset, we can count a 3.5-inch high-definition capacitive touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and video recording, a Snapdragon processor running at 768MHz and coupled with 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mini-USB, GPS, 3.5mm jack, a 1350 mAh battery that can deliver up to 5 hours of talk time or up to 400 hours of standby time, accelerometer, light and proximity sensors, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space. All of these are packed inside a device that measures 115 x 64 x 12.75mm and weighs 135 grams.
