Both devices will be available for purchase in select markets later this year

Acer has just announced the upcoming availability of its first wearable device, the Liquid Leap, which will be bundled with a mid-range Android smartphone that has just been unveiled as well, the Liquid Jade.

According to the Taiwanese company, Acer Liquid Leap smart band and Liquid Jade smartphone will be available in selected markets later this year for prices to be disclosed close to launch.

Advertised as the smallest touch device launched by Acer, Liquid Leap smart band has a 1-inch touchscreen and should provide up to 5-7 days of battery life.

The Liquid Leap tracks can track users’ steps, running distance, calories burnt, and sleeping cycle. It also features incoming call and SMS notification and music control function, which allows users to access the music library on their smartphone.

The wearable device also features Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and supports waterproof IPX7 standard. It will be available in various color options: Moonstone White, Mineral Black, Aquamarine, Fragrant Pink, and Vivid Orange.

Talking about Acer Liquid Jade, the smartphone is powered by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and sports a large 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

The handset also boasts an impressive 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
