Acer Launches Aspire 8930G Laptop with New Intel Quad-Core Processor

New Acer Aspire 8930G laptop boasts Intel's newest Core 2 Quad mobile processor

Acer, one of the leading portable computer system makers, has announced today the introduction of a new portable PC, part of the company’s range of Aspire notebooks. The new system leverages on the computing power of one of the newest quad-core processors on the market, Intel’s latest Core 2 Quad Mobile Q9000. With the help of the new processor, Acer's new Aspire 8930G notebook is ready to provide its users with a performance level that could easily rival that of a high-end desktop PC.

 

“By incorporating the latest capabilities of Intel’s Core2 Quad mobile processors into the Aspire 8930G-7665, Acer is delivering a perfect combination of mobility, innovation and extreme gaming capabilities,” said Sumit Agnihotry, vice president of product marketing for Acer America. “Gamers and enthusiasts who enjoy HD multimedia entertainment will find the performance benefits of quad core mobile performance in the Aspire 8930G unrivaled to other multimedia notebooks on the market.”

 

Intel has announced the new Q9000 mobile processor earlier today as the Santa Clara, California-based leading chip maker has expanded its range of 45nm mobile CPUs. The processor has been designed to deliver a 2.53GHz core speed and comes with a reported FSB of 1066MHz and 12MB of L2 cache.

 

Additionally, the new Aspire 8930 notebook from Acer has been equipped with 4GB of DDR3, 1066MHz dual channel memory, a 500GB 7200RPM SATA hard drive, Blu-ray Disc, 6-in-1 Digital Media Card reader, wireless 802.11 a/g/n connectivity and Dolby Home Theater speakers. Designed to provide users with an alternative solution to a mobile media computer system, the new Aspire notebook packs NVIDIA's GeForce 9700M GT graphics processor, with 512MB dedicated video memory, ready to provide an excellent visual experience on the 18.4 inch WUXGA CrystalBrite TFT LCD.

 

Price-wise, the laptop is said to be available via Acer's authorized resellers and select major retailers, for a MSRP of $1799.99.
