After many rumors and speculations, Acer has finally launched the Nvidia Tegra 3 powered Iconia Tab A510 in France with prices starting at 399 EUR (about $524 US) making it the second Android 4.0 powered tablet to reach Europe after Asus’ Transformer Prime.

The 399 EUR starting price is for the Wi-Fi only version of the A510 sporting 32GB of storage space, which according to Notebook Italia will start shipping the following month.

Coming as the smaller brother of the A700, the Iconia Tab A510 also sports a 10.1-inch screen, this time with a more standard 1280x800 resolution, which hides beneath it Nvidia’s quad-core chipset and Android 4.0.

In the A510, the fast Nvidia chipset is paired together with 1GB of RAM memory and can sport either 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage space.

On the sides of the tablet, Acer has placed pretty much all the ports and connectors that one might need, including a micro-USB port, a microSD slot, and a mini-HDMI output for connecting an external display or HDTV to the Iconia Tab A510.

Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi are also included, while going for the yet unannounced Iconia Tab A511 will also add 3G to the list.

Acer’s tablet is also equipped with dual cameras, the front one featuring a 2MP resolution sensor, while the rear snapper can capture images at 5MP resolution, as well as Full HD videos.

As far as the software is concerned, the regular Android 4.0 UI will be joined by a series of Acer apps, such as the company’s proprietary Ring interface and the Clear-fi technology for multimedia content sharing.

Acer has yet to announce the availability of the tablet in other countries around Europe or in the US, but we promise to keep an eye out for you.
