Today, computer make Acer came to the table with a new series of devices, including the Android-based Acer Liquid Stream smartphone, LumiRead, an e-book reader with support for Acer's clear.fi solution, a new all-in-one PC, and a 7-inch tablet that runs under Google's Android platform. All of these devices were announced during an event in Beijing.

The new Acer Stream handset is expected to arrive on the market as a high-end smartphone, which offers support for 720p videos, as it has been optimized for the delivery of high-definition movies. At the same time, the new device comes with Dolby mobile for an enhanced music experience, as well as with Internet browsing capabilities.

The device has been spotted into the wild not too long ago, as it was put on display at the Google I/O 2010 conference, and was also reported to have already received FCC approval for use in the United States. The phone sports a built-in HDMI port for TV connectivity, and a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen display for improved viewing of photos, videos and more.

The phone is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor with 512MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel photo snapper, 2GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space (an 8GB card included in the package). The handset is reportedly only 11.2mm thin, and should come to the market with Android 2.1 on board, though an update to Android 2.2 might also be on its way.

Hot on the heels of the recently made official Dell Streak 5-inch Android tablet comes the newly spotted slate from Acer, which should deliver an enhanced experience due to the 7-inch touchscreen display it has been equipped with. Showed by Acer's CEO Gianfranco Lanci, the tablet is expected to land on the market sometime in the fourth quarter of the ongoing year. Unfortunately, no technical specifications on the new device have been unveiled so far, though the available photo suggests it might pack 3G connectivity options, as well as a QWERTY keyboard beneath the display.
