Craving a little Windows 8 tablet to spice up your life? Well, then you should know that Acer has just launched the Iconia W4 slate in the United States. Earlier this month, the same tablet made its way to markets like India and Hong Kong.

The slate can be grabbed off Amazon with a retail price of $380 / €277 for the 64GB version. The 32GB model seems to be unavailable right now, but it will probably come soon.

By the way, Acer was the first company to launch an 8-inch tablet powered by Windows 8, with its Iconia W3 model. The W4 however, brings an improved processor and better display to the table.

The new slate bundles a multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and is kept alive by a Bay Trail processor backed up by 2GB of RAM.

The W4 has two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP frontal snapper), 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microSD card, and HDMI out. Acer boasts that the tablet will last users up to 8 hours of intense use.

But customers looking to purchase an 8-inch Windows 8 have today a wide range of choices from companies like Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, and soon ASUS, so be sure to do your homework before you decide what to get.
