The New York event which was held last month wasn't enough for Acer to unveil all it had in its goodie bag. After rolling out the Iconia 7 tablet and Aspire One Switch 10 convertible, the Taiwanese tech giant launched yet another tablet, in the form of the Iconia Tab 8.

Unlike most budget tablets launched so far by the company, the Acer Iconia Tab 8 comes with a full HD display. As the name suggests, the slate has an 8-inch display and arrives with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution.

Like most of Acer’s recent slates, this particular product takes advantage of Zero Air Gap technology, allowing the space between the LCD and glass plate to be maintained at minimal levels.

Under the hood, Acer has laid an Intel Atom Z3745 Bay Trail processor with four cores fitted with 2GB of RAM and internal storage of either 16GB or 32GB, which is expandable via microSD card.

Moving on, the tablet comes equipped with 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi with MIMO technology, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB port and a battery that should provide 7.5 hours of life juice. Another positive feat is the tablet runs Android 4.4. KitKat out of the box.

According to TabletsMagazine, the slate should arrive in mid-July in European stores with a price-tag of €199 / $271.
