Notebook vendors will try to avoid dropping prices too fast, unfortunately

Looks like Acer is wiling to really bet a lot on the ultrabook market, even if it intends to do the same as its peers and not drop prices overly fast.

While figuring out its finances for the past year, Acer reportedly set a very lofty goal as far as ultrabooks are concerned.

Long story short, it means to ship twice as many ultrabooks in the second quarter as it expects to sell in the first one.

This was stated, paradoxically enough, while adding fuel to the rumor that ultrabook prices will remain rather high until 2013 (Acer said companies want to avoid dropping them too fast).

For those who want numbers, about 250,000-300,000 ultrabooks will be sold in January-March, meaning that the notebook player hopes for 500,000-600,000 in April-June.
