Acer may not have actually unleashed a totally new monitor, but it did start shipping one that was detailed little over a week ago, one equipped with 3D rendering capabilities and bundled with NVIDIA 3D glasses.

Since there seems to be quite a bit of drive behind the 3D industry, Acer figured it may as well reveal a new monitor capable of supporting that display mode.

Granted, the actual unveiling was done some time ago, but only now has the availability stage actually been reached and the price revealed.

Basically, it is a monitor with a screen size of 27 inches and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, required for 3D, as the panel needs to create two sets of images at once, each at 60 Hz.

Of course, without support for even the highest-quality media, such functionality would not really have a place here.

As such, Acer made sure to give the screen a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (Full HD), plus a bonus in the 'shape' of a dynamic contrast ratio of 100,000,000:1.

What's more, the monitor has a response time of 2ms and a brightness of 300 cd/m2, plus an integrated infrared receiver than synchronizes the panel with the NVIDIA active shutter 3D glasses included in the bundle.

As one may have guessed by now, Acer HN274HL is fully compatible with the NVIDIA 3D Vision technology.

Finally, for compatibility with a variety of graphics cards and even multimedia players and the like, the company threw in a D-Sub port, a DVI connector and HDMI 1.4.

All the above are packed inside a black frame and complemented by LED backlighting, which makes sure even power efficiency is among the display's assets, not just image clarity and brightness. Sales should now be underway, for the price of 599 Euro.
