Acer’s new AC100 micro server is a compact system powered by an Intel Xeon E3-1200, Intel Core i3 or Pentium series processor. Acer has just announced the detail on its official website, but the system cannot be yet found on the company’s online store.

Acer’s new small server comes preloaded with unique Acer utilities and Microsoft Small Business Server 2011 Essentials to ensure the success of startup and small-size businesses.

It packs a 80-plus certified 200 watts PSU, that seems to have enough juice to feed up to 8TB of RAID storage and 16GB memory.

The system is quite capable for its size and comes with four 3.5-inch hot-pluggable hard drive bays, six USB ports, one PCIe x8 slot, as well as video and eSATA ports.

The chipset powering the AC100’s mainboard is Intel’s C206. The system has four 3.5” hard drive bays and comes with integrated single-port Intel 82579LM Gigabit Ethernet.

Acer’s online shop will offer a wide list of operating system options including: Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials, Microsoft Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1.
