We have been talking about Acer’s upcoming Chromebook, which will be the first of its kind to arrive with a Tegra K1 processor for some time now.

So far, we have been able to shed light on most of its specifications but some aspects remained in the dark. For example, one of the unknown aspects was how much battery life the Tegra K1 will bring to the table.

More importantly, would it be worth picking up this ARM-based laptop taking into consideration that there are plenty of cheap Intel-powered Chromebooks that can deliver up to 8 hours of run time?

The answer appears to be yes. The folks over at Notebook Italia have managed to get their hands on a bunch of photos and a video detailing the upcoming Tegra K1 Chromebook with touch screen. And so, the laptop is revealed as capable of sustaining up to 13 hours of use.

On top of that, we also get a gallery of images detailing the Acer Chromebook 11 CB3-111.

The NVIDIA Tegra K1 laptop goes by the name of Acer Chromebook 13 CB5-311 and will arrive with a 13.3-inch screen. Acer offers a touch model and a non-touch one with either 1366 x 768 pixels or 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Although the video doesn't emphasize the graphic capabilities of the notebook, the NVIDIA ARM Cortex A-15 quad-core processor works in concert with 192-core Kepler graphics, so it’s quite efficient.

While we knew most of the specifications the laptop will arrive with, it’s still pretty nice to get an idea on how the device will behave in real life, as shown in the video. The promo also points out that the laptop integrates the Wi-Fi 802.11ac wireless standard.

What still remains a mystery is when Acer will make this device available or how much it will sell it for (it won’t come too cheap, that’s for sure).

As for the Acer Chromebook CB3-111, this unit will offer customers 8 hours of run time, and compared to the Tegra K1 enhanced one, it is lighter and portable (it also arrives with an 11.6-inch display).

The device has showed up online before and it comes with an Intel Celeron N2830 clocked at 2.16GHz (up to 2.42GHz in Turbo Mode) fitted with 2GB of RAM.

It also boasts an 11.6-inch TFT display with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution and takes advantage of 802.11n Wi-Fi module, HDMI, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and audio jack.

It seems that the laptop will become available later this month, at least in Europe. We’ll keep an eye out for them.
