If you've been waiting for Acer to finally launch their new S7-392 ultrabooks, wait no longer. The Haswell-powered devices are now available for order. We are talking about 2 devices with 8GB of memory and a full HD 1080p IPS display.

The less expensive model of the bunch is dubbed the S7-392-6832 and it sports an Intel Core i5-4200U processor, 8GB of RAM of memory and 128GB of SSD storage space. It has a 4-cell battery and integrated Intel HD 4400 graphics, clocked at 200-1000MHz.

As far the operating system is concerned, it comes preloaded with Windows 8, the 64-bit version. Seeing how this is an ultrabook, size matters. In this particular case, its width is 12.7'', has a depth of 8.8'' and is as high as 0.5 inches.

Other updates setting it apart from the Ivy Bridge S7 version include updated wireless with Intel's Advanced-N 7260.

The second model is dubbed the S7-392-9890 and the only major difference lies in its processor and storage capacity. Namely, it comes with an Intel Core i7-4500U processor and 256GB of SSD storage space instead of the 128GB storage that is offered together with the lesser of the two.

The Intel HD Graphics 4400 onboard chip is clocked at 200-1000MHz. In terms of graphical design, there has been no change to the original design, which is both a good and a bad thing. It looks classy but the keyboard still lacks the top row of keys.

A trivial problem for some, but a problem nonetheless, the pricing is as follows: the Intel Core i5 ultrabook has an MSRP of $1,450 / €1,092 while the one sporting a Core i7 processor and 256GB of SSD storage space will be sold at about $1,700 / €1,280.

Is the Haswell update enough to be worth your money? That is only for you to decide.
