Monitors and all-in-one PCs don't often get touch support, since such a feature is arguably awkward and potentially tiring for the arms when used for extended periods, but productivity can still benefit from it, as can anything that relies on interactivity.

While Toshiba is busy filling the mobile PC market with new models, 3D-enabled or otherwise, Acer figured it may as well do something on the AiO segment.

All-in-one systems have yet to actually get a standardized platform (though Intel is working on it), but this hasn't stopped PC makers from making more.

Case in point, Acer put together the Aspire Z5761, based on an Intel Core central processing unit, the exact options being i5-2400S, i5-2500S or Core i7-2600S.

Either chip can be backed by up to 8 GB of RAM (random access memory) and paired with one of the various NVIDIA graphics solutions available (the GeForce GT440, GT435M and GT420 can be chosen).

What's more, one won't have to worry about storage space, what with up to 1.5 TB being available.

The high capacity is no doubt intended for (among other things) storing media files, large-size videos and the like. This possibility is even supported by hybrid analog/digital TV tuners, for easy streaming.

The product does not have a DVI, DisplayPort or HDMI connector, but does come with VGA, USB 2.0 (USB 3.0 is absent), PS/2, a memory card reader and a 2-megapixel webcam, plus Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and WiFi, not to mention Gigabit Ethernet.

The feature set is completed by a Blu-ray reader with DVD burning capabilities and a screen with a native resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

All the parts above are packed inside a frame measuring 24 inches and priced at £799, the rough equivalent of $1,300. Shipments will begin in early May and more information can be found in the press release.
