Late last month Acer held an event in New York where it introduced a bunch of new products. Sure, we didn't get to see the mythical Chrome OS tablet, but the tech company took the wraps off a whole lineup of new and affordable devices, like the Acer Aspire V11 colorful laptop.

And just a couple weeks later, as Notebook Italia reports, the new machines have showed up in a few retail locations in Belgium, showing us how Acer plans to price the notebooks. If Acer was previously expected to offer the devices for €269 / $269, the European online shops are asking for €301 / $301 and €306 / $306, respectively.

Acer’s new Aspire V11 is currently listed in the shops, but there’s no estimated delivery date for the products.

The Acer V11 lineup is the company’s answer to Ultrabooks. The notebooks have been designed with all the characteristics of portable laptops, being lightweight and compact.

Acer’s 11.6-inch Windows notebook comes with fanless designs and are powered by a low-power Intel Bay Trail processor. As for dimensions, the machine is only 22 mm / 0.8 inches thick and weighs just 1.29 kg / 2.8 lbs.

The Aspire V11 offers a touchscreen display and comes with a keyboard cover and floor reminiscent of brushed aluminum that makes the portable device look economical. The lappy is available in either white or pink.

Thanks to the absence of a cooling system, you will notice the lack of noise and the bothersome flow of hot air, which makes it uncomfortable for you to hold the laptop in your lap. Now taking a look at specs, the Aspire V11 comes with an 11.6-inch display that provides HD resolution.

Under the hood, Acer offers a choice between Celeron or Pentium chips, pertaining to the Bay Trail family fitted with 8GB of RAM and a hard disk that can reach 1TB capacity.

Other specifications include two USB 2.0 ports, a 3.0 one, HDMI digital video out, a plug for connecting to wired networks to Gigabit, SD card slot, stereo speakers located at the bottom, a fully-fledged chiclet keyboard and a Precision touchpad.

At the same event, Acer unveiled the versatile Aspire Switch 10 tablet/laptop hybrid, which offers four different modes of use, including laptop/tablet mode, tent mode and presentation mode.

The device arrives with a 10-inch HD screen (1366 x 768 pixels) of the IPS variety and takes advantage of Acer’s “Zero Gap” technology used to minimize glare.
