By now most tech enthusiasts are familiar with Acer’s new Aspire Switch 10 tablet/laptop hybrid which runs Windows 8.1 out of the box and draws life from an Intel Bay Trail processor.

The initial reviews of the device are claiming the Switch 10 is a worthy device which can be considered a good ASUS Transformer Book T100 alternative. But the same as with the ASUS product, one of the major complaints is that the hybrid offers only 1366 x 768 pixel resolution.

But now it appears Acer will soon be offering a variant that brings the much-awaited full HD display into the equation.

On the Dutch official Acer website, the Aspire Switch 10 SW5-012 has surfaced, a new model which comes with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution instead of the bland 1366 x 768 pixel (as seen at Tablets Magazine).

Strangely enough, Acer has equipped this new model with a lesser processor. The original device arrived with an Intel Bay Trail Z3545 processor while the new one takes advantage of the Z3735F Bay Trail platform clocked at 1.8GHz and accompanied by 2GB of RAM and either 32GB/64GB of internal storage.

What’s more, you won’t be finding Windows 8.1 on board, but Windows 8.1 with Bing, the OS Microsoft is equipping lower-cost products.

The pricing for this new model is not known yet, but hence the operating system is the one mentioned above, we expect it to sell for a more affordable price, maybe even less than the original $349 / €255.
