Intel's recently introduced dual-core Atom N550 central processor has apparently made it into another entry-level mobile computer, the Acer Aspire One D255 Happy, a reiteration of the D255 only with a white chassis and brightly-colored palm rest and display cover.

The Atom N550 is the newest central processing unit that Intel released for the Pine Trail platform and has two cores, each clocked at 1.5 GHz.

Basically, this processor is meant to raise the performance bar on entry-level mobile computers, and Acer decided it would place it inside an equally striking piece of machinery.

Thus, the world-class supplier of personal computers decided to offer a new version of the Acer Aspire One D255, or AOD255 that was detailed back in early August.

Like all netbooks based on the Pine Trail platform, this laptop has a screen size of 10.1 inches, though its exterior is not very common-looking.

For one, the so-called Happy netbook is mostly colored white and even the lid and the palm rest are painted in a bright color.

In terms of specifications, the aforementioned CPU will be paired with the Intel GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator) 3150 integrated graphics.

The CPU is also backed up by 1GB of DDR3 memory, while storage space, 250GB to be exact, is provided by a hard disk drive.

Needless to say, the laptop features the obligatory WiFi wireless connectivity, along with Ethernet and USB.

Finally, the AOD255 is most notable for the fact that it is loaded with both Windows XP and Android OS, essentially making it a dual-boot netbook.

Unfortunately, macles did not say if the unit is already shipping, nor for what price, although it can be assumed that the better processor and the bigger hard drive, at the very least, will demand more than the S$375 of the original.
