Acer has not forgotten about the notebook market segment, being one of the major players in this field, and has proved it by extending the availability of a certain mobile PC. Users that keep track of developments on the IT market, particularly the consumer mobile computer front, probably know of the Acer 5755, or at least heard about it.
This notebook
was introduced in the United Kingdom over a month ago (back in July).
Now, that very same laptop has been sent across the sea, meaning that stores from the other European countries should start to offer it soon, if they haven't already.
The starting price of the machine is 599 Euro, quite on the low side, all things considered.
That said, the central processing unit that lies at the heart of the hardware configuration is an Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 chip of the second generation (Sandy Bridge).
As one well knows, these chips have their own integrated graphics, but this didn't stop Acer from throwing in an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M as well (2 GB of memory).
Meanwhile, a hard disk drive (HDD) provides up to 1 TB of storage space, while a Blu-ray unit or DVD drive handle the optical storage part.
Of course, no computer is complete without a suitable amount of RAM (random access memory), and Acer did not pull its punches when it allowed for up to 8 GB of DDR3 to be implemented.
As for connectivity and I/O, one will find a multi-card reader, Gigabit Ethernet, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, among other things.
Finally, the display is a 15.6-inch LED-backlit LCD with a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels (HD).
Users
should be able to find the Acer Aspire 5755 Style! in Golden Brown, Diamond Black, Deep Blue and Ruby Red color options, all of them running Windows 7 Premium 64bit.
