Acer Asked Suppliers to Work Through Upcoming Holiday

If you thought Acer was full of the new year spirit, you may have been wrong.

Either that, or the company is in such dire straits that it does not afford slacking off more than a day.

While it will allow a day off on Chinese New Year Eve, it has asked its Chinese partners, among others, to keep working until then, and afterwards.

Digitimes says that the request came as a surprise to production companies because PC demand has been rather weak for some time now.

Then again, Acer is not the only company to have placed such a request with the facilities that make its products.

Apple also requested a similar service form Foxconn, Simplo, Wintek and Dynapack, so as to prepare a suitable number of iPad 3 tablets.
