Acer America Launches New Multimedia Laptops

New Acer Aspire 5536 delivers better multimedia experience

Acer America has just announced the release of a couple of new portable computer systems, part of the company's Gemstone Blue family. The two new laptops have been specifically designed to provide computer enthusiasts with a choice for an HD entertainment laptop, coming in a 15.6-inch and in a 17.3-inch form factor. The Aspire AS5536, Aspire AS7735Z and AS5739G notebooks are equipped with the LED backlit technology and a 16:9 aspect ratio, with high-quality graphics powered by your choice of an Intel, ATI or NVIDIA graphics processing unit.

“As part of our highly acclaimed Gemstone Blue family, the latest Aspire notebooks feature excellent price/performance and mainstream entertainment in a mobile PC that delivers significant value for their investment,” Ray Sawall, senior manager of product marketing for Acer America, said. “Consumers are increasingly selecting notebooks as their primary device. As proven by our latest Aspire notebooks, we recognize that value-based mobile PCs need to offer appealing aesthetics as well as great performance and multimedia capabilities.”

Each of the three new multimedia laptops from Acer is designed to provide the end-user with a different choice in terms of hardware configuration. For example, the Aspire AS5536 can be fitted with an Athlon 64 X2 QL-64 dual-core processor, 3GB of DDR2 memory, a 320GB hard drive, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, 8X Super-Multi DVD, multi-gesture touchpad and InviLink 802.11 b/g/n WiFi connectivity and a 15.6-inch HD LED-backlit display. The Aspire AS7735Z comes with a larger, 17-inch display, an Intel Pentium T4200 processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 250GB hard drive, an 8X DVD Super-Multi, multi-gesture touchpad and wireless 802.11 b/g/n connectivity.

These two configurations come with starting price tags of US$479,99 and US$599,99, respectively. However, for a starting price of US$749,99, users can take advantage of the performance enabled by the 15.6-inch Aspire AS5739G. This system is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T6500 processor, has 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive, NVIDIA GT130M graphics with 1GB of memory, 8X DVD Super-Multi, multi-gesture touchpad and wireless 802.11 b/g/n connectivity. To sweeten the offer, this model has also been fitted with Acer's Bio-Protection Fingerprint solution and the Acer PowerSmart Tech/Key.
