Those who thought Acer didn't have anything else in store besides the improved Aspire One 522 netbook were in the wrong, as the outfit revealed an upgraded 722 alongside it, or at least online listings were spotted to this effect.

Acer May not have actually stepped forth and posted lengthy press releases about it, but two of its mobile personal computers got updated not long ago.

One of them is the Aspire One 522, a netbook of 10.1 inches in screen size, which we covered in this article.

The other product is an only slightly bigger laptop (the display diagonal measures 11.6 inches), dubbed Aspire One 722.

This machine doesn't quite qualify as a netbook, more like an ultrathin device, even though it does have much in common with its smaller sibling.

The C-60 APU is the most obvious example, with its two cores (1.0 GHz frequency, 1.33 GHz in Turbo Core mode) and the integrated Radeon HD 5290 graphics.

In addition to DirectX 11 support (which isn't overly relevant outside gaming, which the laptop is not built for), this CPU should have no problem playing all sorts of video, especially with how the 11.6-inch LCD LED-backlit panel has a native resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels (Full HD).

2 GB of RAM are present, as is a hard disk drive (HDD) with a capacity of 320 GB, for all music and video storage needs.

Other specifications include HDMI, 10/100 LAN, Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, a 5-in-1 media card reader and a 6-cell battery to keep everything operational.

Black, blue and red color options are available, all for a reported price of 399.99 Euro, which translates into $539.58 based on current exchange rates.

Finally, the Microsoft Windows 7 home Premium Operating System (OS) is featured (Aspire one 522 had Windows 7 Starter).
