Acer can still pride itself as having developed the most popular netbook system on the market, according to a recent study made by PriceGrabber.com. The Aspire One netbook has managed to take the first place in the Top 10 netbooks on PriceGrabber.com, having managed to considerably outpace ASUS' Eee PC netbook, which only came in the 10th place. The product survey takes into consideration all the netbook systems that have been launched last year, even those that were launched well after the debut of Acer's Aspire One.

The 8.9-inch, Atom-powered netbook has successfully caught the attention of most portable computer system users. With a design and a specification sheet that is somewhat similar to that of most of its competitors, the Aspire One landed on the number one spot in the “Top 10 Netbooks on PriceGrabber.com,” followed by Lenovo's IdeaPad S10 and HP Mini 1000 netbooks. Not necessarily being the cheapest product in its category, the Aspire One netbook has considerably outpaced ASUS' Eee PC 900HA, which grabbed the number 10 spot in the aforementioned survey.

What is probably even more interesting is that this netbook has also managed to grab the number two spot in the Top 25 netbooks and laptops at PriceGrabber.com, with the number one spot being held by the 13.3-inch Apple MacBook laptop. This only confirms what has been said on several occasions now, namely that netbooks have gained a massive amount of popularity in a relatively short period of time. 10 percent of those who answered the question “Which of the following technology devices do you personally own?” said they owned a netbook.

According to the report, the average “price of the top 10 netbooks on PriceGrabber.com is $379. This attractive price point is important to the 57 percent of consumers surveyed who indicated that they made a concerted effort to cut back financially in the past few months. As consumers face a down economy they see netbooks as an attractive, low-cost option to complement a portable lifestyle.”

Netbooks have become the ideal product for the current market situations, providing users with the very basics in computing technology for a price tag that is considered affordable by most.
