Earlier this year, Acer drew the attention of everybody with the launch of its new line of ultraportable computer systems, the new 10-inch and 11.6-inch Aspire One netbooks. Designed for consumers that are looking for ultra-portability, Internet access and a basic computing experience, these new systems from Acer take advantage of the latest Intel Atom platform, which combines performance with lower-power requirements for enhanced battery life. On that note, Acer America, a division of the world's third largest vendor of PCs, has announced today the US launch of the 11-inch Aspire One 751 and the 10-inch Aspire One D250.

“As the worldwide leader in the netbook market, we designed our new 11.6-inch AO751h after careful consideration about how customers use and most enjoy their netbooks,” said Sumit Agnihotry, vice president of product management for Acer America. “We predict that the larger display and keyboard will be a game-changer for mobile consumers looking to take it to the next level with the ultimate mobile device.”

The specifications of the new netbooks are pretty much the same as when they were first unveiled by the PC vendor, with the 11.6-inch Aspire One 751 boasting the Intel US15W Express chipset and the 10.1-inch featuring the older Intel 945GSE Express chipset. Both models incorporate the Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics chip, combined with 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 160GB hard drive. On the processor side, each model is equipped with a different Intel chip. While the 10-inch netbook goes for the more successful Atom N270 CPU, the 11-inch model has been equipped with the 1.22GHz Z520 processing unit.

As with most netbooks, users will be able to take advantage of the integrated WiFi b/g wireless solution, optional 3G, multiformat card reader, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA out, webcam and stereo speakers. The 751 model makes quite an impression with the WXGA 1364x768 resolution and the secondary, dedicated SD card slot for increasing the netbook's storage. Price-wise you are looking at a starting price of US$379.99 and US$298, for the 6-cell battery-powered Aspire One 751 and the Aspire One D250 model, which comes with a 3-cell battery pack.
