It is probably just wishful thinking on our part, but maybe the patent war between Samsung and Apple really has become tiresome enough that others are thinking twice about starting new ones.

We say this because, even though Fujitsu and Acacia were setting up lawsuits at district courts in Texas and California, they have decided to settle their disputes out of court.

Ropes & Gray have the information regarding which patents were discussed, and what the regard. The short version is that RAM and flash memory technologies were the subject of the talks.

This is the latest in an encouraging streak of good news, including a new anti-troll law and a loss for such a patent troll.

The subsequent wave of job cuts is the only thing preventing us from being truly glad of all this.
