Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi Blamed for Almost 1,100 Deaths in the Past Seven Weeks

42 U.S troops were killed this month, announced the Iraq Coalition Casualty Count web site. U.S blames the Al-Qaeda leader in Iraq, Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi for most of the violent acts against its troops.

Five U.S marines from the 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force and sailor attached to the unit were reported dead in a roadside
bomb explosion near the city of Ramadi.

June appears to be the bloodiest month in Iraq as too many Iraqi soldiers and civilians have died in car bombings and other suicide attacks in the past two weeks.

A black sedan turned into a suicide car bomb hit an Iraqi truck in western Baghdad, killing at least eight police officers and wounding 25 others, according to Police official statements.



Another car bomb explosion killed at least two soldiers and wounded other five troops, in a town northeast of Baghdad.

Eight Iraqis were reported dead and at least eight soldiers were wounded when another Iraqi convoy was bombed in northern Iraq.

According to U.S military officials, at least three Iraqi civilians died and other 11 people were injured in a mortar attack in the city of Tal Afar.
