Absolute, an x86 Linux distribution based upon Slackware that concentrates on making sure that Internet, multimedia, document, and general home use works out of the box, is now at version 14.01.

As expected, the Absolute Linux operating system is designed to be lightweight, to run on older hardware, and to make the interface simple and intuitive.

According to the developer, this latest version only incorporates a few tweaks and updates to keep things working, after the large update to 10.0.

Highlights of Absolute Linux 14.01:

• Users can use k3b once again;
• All 'hpcups' drivers have been updated, along with the 'hpjs' ones;
• imagemagick has been update to version 6.8.0;
• Putty has been updated to version 0.62;
• LibreOffice has been updated to version 3.6.2;

Check out the official changelog for a complete list of updates.
