Traffic warden in Leeds, UK, issues parking ticket for abandoned wheelbarrow

This past Saturday, a resident of the city of Leeds in the UK couldn't quite believe their eyes when they witnessed a traffic warden serving a wheelbarrow abandoned on the side of a local road with a parking ticket.

Since interfering with law enforcement officers is never a good idea, the Leeds resident simply let the traffic warden do his job and issue a ticket for the rogue wheelbarrow.

They did, however, snap of few photos of the incident and posted them on Twitter as @Geezajay2013, under the caption “Leeds City Council Putting A Parking Ticket On A Wheel Barrow.” You can find the photos below.

It's unclear what offense the wheelbarrow's owner might have committed or if wheelbarrows even quality as vehicles and can be issued parking tickets if and when abandoned on the side of one street or another.

Mind you, some say that the photos are fake and that the traffic warden was merely playing a practical joke on a group of construction workers nearby. Officials in Leeds are also cautious about taking this affair seriously.

“We're not sure this is genuine, but if it is then it appears this individual has been a little overzealous in exercising his duties,” a spokesperson for the Leeds City Council tried to explain the incident in a statement.
