27 years ago Katheryn Deprill was abandoned by her parents in the bathroom of a Burger King in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and now she is on a quest to find her birth mother via a Facebook campaign.

The woman, known as the “Burger King Baby,” lives now in South Whitehall Township. She was found as a newborn in the bathroom of a Burger King restaurant on September 15, 1986, and she is now sharing her story in an attempt to find the mother who abandoned her there.

“Someone had heard me crying and they notified the staff and they came in, I was laying there on the floor,” Katheryn said, according to News Channel.

She was put into foster care with Brenda Hollis' family. They later decided to adopt her.

Given that social media is so powerful and largely spread nowadays, she thought Facebook was a good place to start her search. So, the 27-year-old woman posted a photo of her holding a handwritten sign with a moving message on her personal page, which already has thousands of shares and likes.

“Looking for my birth mother. She gave birth to me September 15, 1986. She abandoned me in the Burger King bathroom only hours old, Allentown, PA. Please help me find her by sharing this post. Maybe she will see this. Thank You,” the message says.

Deprill is also trying to use newspapers and television stations to share her message and connect with her mother.

The abandoned woman says she wants to find her biological mother because she has a few questions to ask her, including details about her medical history. However, she doesn't mention if she is willing to maintain a long lasting relationship with her birth mother.

“I came to realize, especially now being a mother, it’s very hard, things are very expensive and I would guess she just couldn’t give me the life that she wanted, which is why she left me in a warm, public place. I just hope that I can see her and maybe give her a hug,” the woman added, suggesting that she is not angry or resentful.

Katheryn Deprill says she had a happy childhood with her adoptive parents, brothers and sisters and she doesn't want to replace them if she manages to locate her real mother. Now, Katheryn is married with three children, but she feels like there's a piece missing in her life.
