AVG is trying to stay at the forefront of OS X and iOS security with its AVG Managed Workplace 2013 remote monitoring & management (RMM) platform, which now fully supports Apple’s products.

If you don’t know what this means, AVG would like to entice you to read their mile-long press release. For those who prefer a concise version of the benefits, AVG is basically offering remote monitoring and management of OS X and iOS devices.

You get Mac OS X off-network monitoring and management, with the ability to: remotely lock and/or wipe a lost device, set the device status as lost and configure specific actions, receive alerts when the Mac OS X device is down, collect hardware and software information (including installed apps), and view data in 10 different AVG Managed Workplace reports.

The iOS agentless MDM protects devices and data with key features like: remote remediation, remotely lock or wipe the device or remove the passcode, receive alerts, mark devices as lost, configure email and Wi-Fi automatically, easily provision devices for monitoring and management.
