14 DAY TRIAL // Today, AVG has announced the availability of a new flavor of its free Android performance tool called AVG Cleaner, currently available for download as version 2.0.
The new application iteration was made available for download with some of the features from AVG Uninstaller packed inside, so as to provide users with increased control over their devices from the same interface.
Basically, the new capabilities mean that users will also be able to remove unwanted or unused applications from their devices straight from the AVG Cleaner, thus enjoying more space for things that matter the most for them.
On top of that, the application comes with support for AVG Zen integration (the feature will be released at the end of March), which means that users will be able to keep an eye on the performance of their devices at all times.
“AVG Cleaner 2.0 now gives you even greater control over your device by integrating the powerful performance features of AVG Uninstaller. AVG Cleaner can help remove apps that users haven’t used in a long time or are draining resources,” the company notes in a blog post.
With AVG Cleaner, users can have their applications arranged in three different ways, which will enable them to better decide which software can remain on the device and which should be removed.
With this application, users can have a look at the apps they haven’t accessed in a long time, so as to be able to get rid of those that might never be used again.
Moreover, it will deliver details on the batter usage of different software on the device, especially since most of power-hungry apps can also impact performance. Info on data and storage usage will also be displayed in AVG Cleaner.
“If you choose, AVG Cleaner can notify you, once a week, which apps you haven’t used in a long time and what steps to take next to improve performance. You can then easily uninstall multiple apps from within AVG Cleaner,” the aforementioned blog post explains.
Through removing apps that are constantly running on their devices in the background, users can also improve performance and save battery, while also gaining some more space on the phone/tablet.
“As you would expect, AVG Cleaner 2.0 does not compromise on cleaning power. With cache, history, calls, and message cleaning features as well as an Auto-Clean mechanism, AVG Cleaner helps you get rid of wasteful data at the touch of a button,” said blog post continues.
The new flavor of AVG Cleaner can be downloaded through the official Google Play store. The application is compatible with all devices running under Android 2.2 or up.
