AVADirect has just announced that the company has started selling a series of desktop computers that can be configured with AMD's recently introduced FX-Series processors based on the Bulldozer architecture.

Users have the option of selecting from three of the four processors AMD introduced two weeks ago, the eight-core FX-8150 and FX-8120 or the six-core FX-6100, which can be paired with AMD 870, 970, 990X or 990FX motherboards.

In addition, the systems can also pack up to 16GB of RAM, one or two AMD or Nvidia graphics cards, and a maximum of six hard drives, all of these being powered by power supplies with rating ranging from 585 to 1600 Watts.

The more powerful of the two systems announced today has a base price of $856.01 (614 Euros) and the standard configuration includes a 3.3GHz AMD FX-6100 processor, 4GB of system memory and a pair of Sapphire Radeon HD 5750 graphics cards setup to work in CrossFireX.

Storage is handled by a single 1TB Seagate hard drive seconded by a Sony DVD burner and all these are installed in a Compucase HEC chassis.

Its less powerful brother also features the same AMD six-core processor and 4GB of system memory, but this time it packs a single Radeon HD 5750 graphics card.

The motherboard was also changed from the Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 used in the more powerful desktop to an Asus M5A88-M, which means that users lose the ability to use CrossFireX or SLI graphics as this board only features a single PCI Express x16 slot.

Both systems are available right now from AVADirect's website, where users can also configure them to their liking.

According to the company, the AMD Bulldozer desktop list will continue to be updated with new models in the near future.
