ATV Offroad Fury Hints IV (PS2)

- One and four wheelers

By: Andrei Dumitrescu, Games Editor

The concept is simple: get a buggy, take off to the beaten track and have fun while doing it. ATV Offroad Fury is created by Rainbow Studios, which is also behind the Splashdown franchise,
the MX Unleashed games and the well known Motocross Madness, and offers an adrenaline-filled experience.

There are 12 all-terrain buggies available in the game. There are also 20 tracks, each with a distinct setting, that can be raced upon. There is also a variety of game modes that can be tackled: Training, Freestyle, Cross Country Endurance, MAXXIS Nationals, Stadium Supercross, Pro Career and also variations of these modes for multiplayer play. For each of the game types listed, the tracks present various objectives that the player must complete.

One good example is Freestyle, where the player gets points based on the moves the buggy does while in the air. During the Pro Career, the player must complete all the races so that he can move along the game path. Other game modes are not as demanding as the Pro Career mode.

The soundtrack of the game is especially fitting, with the following tracks: Alice in Chains - Them Bones; Apollo 440- Yo! Future; Anthrax - Crush; Apollo 440 - "Yo! Future"; Bender - Isolate; Bender - Superfly; Cirrus - Stop and Panic; Primus - Jerry Was a Race Car Driver; Sevendust - Denial; Soundgarden - Spoonman; Strawhorse - Atlanta; Strawhorse - Fishbowl; Strung Out - Mephisto; Strung Out - Scarecrow; Ultraspank - Click; Ultraspank – Crumble.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Front wheelie

Begin like with a regular wheelie but immediately before you are about to flip over, press Clutch, Brake, and Forward on the Analog-stick or the D-pad. All of this works best with the Ravage 1000.

"Walk" your four-wheeler

Also begin with a regular wheelie but then press Down/Left or Down/Right. You should go up on one wheel. Then, start rotating back in forth Down/Right or Down/Left (depending on which way you started), while always watching your speed. It is a little tricky at first. Note: This works best with the Banshee.

One wheeler

Try to turn as sharply as you can without pushing on the brakes. You should now be skidding. Do a bicycle and a wheelie at the same time. If done correctly, you should be doing a one wheeler.

Explode off your ATV

Execute a high air jump. While in the air, do the Scissors move (Down/Left + Triangle) then hold that so you continue to go in the Down/Left motion. When you are far enough into that motion, you will launch off your ATV.
