ATLAS.ti has issued a press announcement to inform the masses that an iPad-native version of its offering is available on iTunes. Next year, a Mac version of the analysis tool will be released.

Available as a free download in the iOS App Store, ATLAS.ti Mobile – Qualitative Data Analysis does what its name implies: collects data for analysis.

Released as a data collection and coding companion for ATLAS.ti customers, the free iPad app assists the following tasks: “record, segment, comment and code audio, video, image, textual and PDF documents; export projects to ATLAS.ti 7 for further analysis and reporting.”

The app aims to provide the necessary tools to collect and manage data during field research, while the upcoming Mac version will boast full-Unicode support, enabling users to collaborate with colleagues using Windows PCs.

Best of all, users switching to the Mac will be able to transition their data free of charge.
