ATI Technologies Inc. has launched what seems to be one of the most advanced graphics configurations which will be featured on a PC.
More precisely, the manufacturer guarantees for a never-ending superb gaming experience generated by uniting two ATI graphics cards with another one, dedicated for 'special effects' of the environment, and a Intel Core 2 Duo platform.
Consequently, ATI's CrossFire X1900 multi-GPU solution, in combination with Intel Core 2 Duo processors, produces the best image quality and performance in games, while a single ATI GPU works to deliver realistic physics.
"By unleashing Havok FX on ATI GPUs, we're opening the door for some of the most compelling game experiences ever seen," said David O'Meara, CEO, Havok. "Imagine explosions so realistic that thousands of pieces of shrapnel blanket the area dealing damage to characters and objects nearby. Imagine swirling mist and smoke so interactive that it washes behind you as your character runs through it. With the power of ATI GPUs and the ingenuity of the Havok FX engine, these are the type of in-game experiences gamers can expect."
ATI further announced today that it has signed an agreement with Havok, as the latter produced what is said to be "the brain" behind ATI's gaming experience - Havok FX. ATI representatives added that, because of Havok FX, game developers will be able to create 'real environments' that include more details such as explosions, smoke, debris, fluids, and cloth.
In fact, ATI physics lets developers deliver true-to-life representations of reality in games, thanks to the superior parallel processing architecture of ATI's Radeon X1K GPUs. The gamers will be finally happy, as they will be able to benefit from scenes which feature more than 20,000 to 30,000 distinct items that can be better simulated.
It seems that ATI has created a CrossFire certification program to make it easier for gamers to recognize the products that are CrossFire-ready. To ensure compatibility of components and strong performance for CrossFire systems, over 90 products have been tested and certified since the program's inception in March. The manufacturer offers an up-to-date CrossFire certified components list, which features graphics cards, motherboards, power supplies, and memory - www.aticrossfire.com.
