Apple iPhone 4 owners on AT&T's network have now yet another reason to rejoice, as their wireless carrier is set to offer support for one of the newest features that would arrive on their devices soon, namely hotspot capability.

The new functionality would become available for iPhone 4 users at AT&T as soon as the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system, dubbed iOS, arrives on their devices.

A few days ago, Cupertino-based Apple unveiled plans to make the new iOS 4.3 platform flavor available for users as soon as March 11th.

With the new hotspot capability enabled, iPhone owners would be able to use their devices to create a mobile Wi-Fi access point that would offer Internet connectivity to other devices that support Wi-Fi.

AT&T would offer support for the new capability on iPhone devices, a company's representative confirmed, but specific info on whether this would happen on day one or soon after lacks at the moment.

“To utilize this feature, customers will need to subscribe to the DataPro 4GB/$45 tethering data plan,” AT&T spokesperson Seth Bloom reportedly stated.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the $45 per month DataPro plan is required at the moment in the event that customers would like to tether their device via USB or Bluetooth.

As stated above, the new hotspot capability would become available for users along with the 4.3 flavor of the iOS platform, which was officially announced along with the new iPad 2 device.

At that time, Apple unveiled that the new tablet PC would include the capability as well.

In addition to the possibility to sharing an iPhone 4 cellular data connection over Wi-Fi, the new platform version comes with some other enhancements too, including a faster Safari mobile browser, iTunes Home Sharing, or improved AirPlay.

The iOS 4.3 release is only one week away from arriving on iPhone devices at AT&T, and we'll learn more on the carrier's plans on the said feature at that time.
