Mobile phone carrier AT&T is expected to start the deployment of Mango, the new Windows Phone OS flavor, as soon as next week, some of the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The new operating system update is said to be on its way to AT&T's customers come September 27th, when most devices will receive it.

HTC Surround and LG Quantum will be those to receive the update starting with that day, and the same applies to a series of Samsung Focus models, namely rev 1.3(Micron).

The HTC HD7S, which arrived at AT&T this year towards summer, will receive the new software update only in mid-October.

According to the info that emerged over at WPCentral, the rest of Samsung Focus models, rev 1.4(LSI), are expected to start tasting Mango only in late October.

For the time being, however, no specific info on when the Dell Venue Pro at AT&T tastes the software update has been unveiled.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Dell has just announced that it will start the deployment of Mango for its Venue Pro users soon, and that unlocked devices will be those to receive it first.

However, the company did not offer a specific launch date for the Mango update for AT&T-locked Venue Pro models, though they promised additional details in the near future.

The Mango update will bring along a nice range of new features to Windows Phone devices, and was meant to enhance the entire experience that users receive from handsets.

There will be improvements related to gaming, to application handling, Internet browsing, connectivity and more, as well as revamped menus and more.

Microsoft unveiled Mango a few months ago, but it was only recently that they announced that Mango will arrive on existing devices in a week or two.

New phones powered by Mango will also be launched, and AT&T themselves unveiled three such devices, namely HTC TITAN, Samsung Focus S, and Samsung Focus Flash.
