Mobile phone carrier AT&T has slashed the prices for its Windows Phone devices, so as to make them more eye candy for users interested in the purchase of a new handset this holiday season.

Five smartphones running under Microsoft’s Windows Phone operating system are available for purchase through the wireless operator for only $0.01 now, as part of a special promotion AT&T kicked off for the holiday shopping season.

“Shop our online selection of new or refurbished cell phones and devices and choose from a wide variety of styles and manufacturers on the AT&T ultra-fast 3G network. AT&T's selection includes the Samsung Focus Flash, Samsung Focus, HTC HD7S,” the wireless carrier notes.

However, these are not the only Windows Phone devices put on sale almost for free at the carrier. The new Samsung Focus S smartphone and the HTC TITAN were also included into the promotion.

All these handsets can be acquired now from AT&T for the said cost with the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

The company notes that all of them will require committing to a minimum data service starting at $15/month. To benefit from the deal, users will also need to activate the phones, made for free at the moment, also part of AT&T’s special promotion.

The deal should appeal a lot to mobile phone users, especially since the new Samsung Focus S and the HTC TITAN are powerful, high-end devices powered by Windows Phone 7.5 Mango.

The other handsets are as appealing too, although Samsung Focus and HTC HD7S were launched a year ago, while the Focus Flash was designed for the mid level of the market.

Regardless the actual selection they will make, users interested in learning more on the new deal AT&T put in place for these Windows Phones should head over to the carrier’s website here.
