Owners of a Moto X smartphone on the network of wireless carrier AT&T should now see the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system arriving on their smartphones, as Motorola has already published the official changelog for it.

The availability of the update comes shortly after members of the Motorola Feedback Network started seeing the software arriving on their devices as part of the handset vendor’s soak test for it.

As Android Central notes, it appears that the testing was successful, and that AT&T and Motorola have decided that the new OS version is indeed ready for deployment on all Moto X handsets at the wireless carrier.

“We are excited to announce a new software update for Moto X by Motorola. With this upgrade you get the latest version of the Android OS (Android 4.4.2, KitKat) for your Moto X along with some bug fixes,” the mobile phone maker announced on its support website.

As part of this update, users will receive the enhancements that were made available to Moto X owners on the networks of other wireless operators in the United States, it seems.

On top of that, however, they will also see that the new software version comes to devices with a fix for a bug that caused a series of connectivity issues for the AT&T Moto X users, while traveling outside the US.

Moreover, Motorola notes on its website that the new release will resolve a bug that could cause email services such as Microsoft Exchange to experience intermittent delays in data synchronization.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update will also provide users with support for printing documents and pictures straight from their devices.

“Added support for printing photos, Google Docs, GMail messages, and other content via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and hosted services like Google Cloud Print and HP ePrinters,” Motorola notes.

At the same time, there are a series of battery life enhancements added to the update, including fixes for a series of bugs that resulted on battery drain on some Moto X handsets following the update to Android 4.4, Motorola notes.

The new software release will arrive on devices over the air, and the mobile phone maker recommends that users download it over a Wi-Fi network. Moreover, the company notes that they should make sure that the handset’s battery has been charged at least at 50 percent.

Moto X should display a notification message as soon as the update is available. However, users who did not receive the update can manually check for the update through heading to Settings > About Phone > System Updates.
