Lumia 920 and Lumia 820, the first two smartphones that Finnish handset vendor Nokia has made official with Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 8 operating system, have just received the necessary approvals for use on AT&T’s network in the United States.

The two devices have been officially introduced in the beginning of September and, with AT&T announcing their upcoming availability a few weeks ago, their official release is drawing near.

No specific info on when that might happen has been provided as of yet, though rumor has it that AT&T might launch them on November 4th, while making them available for pre-order starting with October 21st.

With blessings received from the FCC, the release date indeed appears to be near.

Moreover, since Lumia 920 was approved with 700MHz LTE and AWS LTE for AT&T, it seems that the device might arrive in Canada as well in the near future, Engadget notes.
