Mobile phone carrier AT&T announced officially at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas the release of a new series of mobile phones on its airwaves, one of which would be the HTC Inspire 4G, set to bring the appealing features of HTC Sense to AT&Ts' customers on top of that Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.

The new mobile phone should come to the market with support for AT&T's 4G network, which would be based on HSPA+ technology, just as T-Mobile USA's network is.

The specifications list of the new mobile phone shows that it would be launched at AT&T as the carrier's version of Desire HD, already available for purchase in a wide range of markets around the world.

With a 4.3 inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) super LCD touchscreen on board, the new mobile phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM 8255 1 GHz processor, complemented by 768MB of RAM, and 4GB internal memory, as well as a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

On the back, the new mobile phone includes an 8-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, flash and HD 720p video capture capabilities.

The specifications list of the new device also includes support for WCDMA/HSPA+ 850/1900 MHz, GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 MHz connectivity, as well as for Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP Stereo, WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n, and DLNA.

A 3.5 mm audio jack is present with the new device, along with Built-in mobile hotspot capabilities (connect up to 5 Wi-Fi devices), Digital compass, G-Sensor, Proximity sensor, Light sensor, and GPS receiver.

The new HTC Inspire 4G for AT&T is powered by a 1230mAh Li-Ion battery that can offer up to 6 hours of talk time, or up to 15.5 days of standby time. The handset measures 4.8” x 2.7” x 0.46” and weighs in at 5.78 ounces.

According to AT&T, the new mobile phone is expected to land on its airwaves sometime in the first half of 2011. No info on the price tag of HTC Inspire 4G emerged for the time being.
